exactly 164 days have passed since we opened registration for the next ITTF World Masters Championships – Rome 2024 and today, with great satisfaction, when there are still more than 7 months left until the start of the event, we can announce that we have sold out all the 6100 places available for athletes!

In just over 5 months your enthusiasm, combined with that of your 6099 table tennis player friends who together with you will have the opportunity to participate in the largest table tennis tournament of all time, have allowed us to achieve an astonishing goal for the entire global table tennis community which, even we on the Organizing Committee, would never have imagined to achieve at the beginning of this challenge.

6100 participants and 102 countries represented, over 2500 accompanying, 350 tables used, around 200 referees and umpires, 160 volunteers, 40 staff people, over 20,000 games played, 47,000 sqm of space available for the event, 1 large hospitality area, 1 large fan village: these are the numbers for Rome 2024!

Therefore, not only a great sport event but, also and above all, the opportunity for a meeting between different peoples and cultures but all united by the love of sport and table tennis in particular!

From today, therefore, your friends who are not yet registered but would like to participate in the event can regularly register and by doing so they will be automatically included in the “waiting list” (already active) from which they will be drawn whenever new places become available due to cancellation requests that may arrive in the coming months.

In this regard, I remind you again that athletes on the waiting list who may be accepted for substitutions (via specific communication) will be able to pay their entry fee, no later than the following 72 hours, only and exclusively by credit card as it is necessary to obtain immediate confirmation of acceptance of the place. If payment is not made within the 72 hours the athlete will lose the right to a replacement!

Remember, however, that it is still possible to continue purchasing, on the same link used for registration (clicking on “next” and select services of interest), all the following services made available by the Organizing Committee:

  • accreditation of accompanying persons;
  • outdoor and indoor parking packages;
  • camping parking package;
  • VIP package

to which further services will soon be added including gala dinnerfarewell party, accident and medical expenses insurance, etc.

On the same link it is also possible to register for the TTX (Table Tennis X) Tournament, the amateur tournament with a limited number of participants (128 participants) open to players and any amateur who wants to register, which will take place on Wednesday 10 July starting at 3.00 pm. The participation fee includes the delivery of a racket which will remain your property at the end of the tournament. Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 athletes. For more information, I invite you to consult the corresponding page of the website from which you can also download the rules of the game and the tournament.

I also want to take this opportunity to remind you of something, perhaps superfluous, but very important!

As you know, registration for the ITTF World Masters Championships is on an individual basis, however, as it is a competition for which the ITTF assigns official titles, the principle of national representativeness will be scrupulously ensured. This means that each of the participants at the time of accreditation (and at any time of the competition, if requested by the competition umpires) must show a passport demonstrating possession of the nationality declared at the time of registration. In the case that the athlete does not have the nationality of the nation declared during registration, the athlete in question will not be admitted to the competition. Therefore, if you are in this condition please immediately change your declared nationality.

If you intend to reserve an airport/hotel/airport transfer service on arrival and departure, I remind you that it is possible to send a specific request to info@rome2024.org  specifying the number of people to be transported and the days of arrival/departure. Within a few days you will receive a specific quotation from our staff.

I also remind you that to facilitate your search for a doubles partner we have created a specific Facebook page WMC ROME 2024 – COMMUNITY which has already allowed many people to find a partner who meets their characteristics. If you haven’t already done so, sign up to the page and become part of the Community.
