first of all I would like to wish you and all your loved ones a wonderful 2024 full of many joys and satisfactions…even in table tennis!!

2024 will bring with it many sporting events, first and foremost the Paris Olympic Games which, in August, will involve all the sporting excellences of our planet. But to remind the world that you can be an athlete and sports lover at any age even when the time for results at any cost has passed, there will be, before Paris, the ITTF World Masters Table Tennis Championships in Rome which, as now you know, it will be the largest table tennis event in history with its 6100 participating athletes representing 103 nations, an event which, as only sport knows and can do, will enhance the spirit of brotherhood and communion between peoples!

Now let’s get to the news! We want to open this new year with the news that many of you have been waiting for: the name of the model of tables and balls that will be used for the Championships.

Well, I am happy to inform you that we have signed a supply agreement with the Indian company STAG Global, which will be the official supplier of the tables, balls and flooring that will be used during the event.

Below is the statement of STAG Global Director, Arjun Kohli:

This event will showcase global table tennis talent against the backdrop of Rome’s rich cultural heritage. To honor this monumental event, a new ITTF-approved table named “ROMA” has been created which will be used for the tournament. As for the balls, the “Stag GLOBAL *** 40+” will be used, which will also be ITTF approved.

Furthermore, STAG Global, together with the sponsorship rights for the technical equipment, has also acquired the title rights of the event which, starting from today, will be officially called “ITTF World Masters Table Tennis Championships Rome 2024  presented by Stag Global” and will have a new logo:

 

Of course, from today Stag Global will give to all those who are interested the opportunity to purchase both the official Roma 2024 balls and the tables at a particularly advantageous discount of 25%: € 4,00 (Retail – € 5.29) for a pack of 3 balls and € 749,00 (Retail – € 999,00) for the table (shipping costs vary depending on the country).

At this regard it is necessary to use the following contacts:

The waiting list to register for the event, which started in December, continues to be active and many have already registered in the hope of being invited back. To date, taking into account the cancellations made, over 70 people have already been recruited but it is likely that several other places will be available shortly.

In this regard, to encourage the participation of athletes with disabilities (para athletes), ITTF and LOC decided to give a priority on the waiting list to them. In this case, after registration (flagging on “Paralympic athlete”) please send, also, an email to inform us about your registration as “para athlete”, so that we can approve your registration as soon as possible.

Furthermore, I remind you again that athletes on the waiting list when will be accepted for substitutions (notified via email), will be able to pay their fee, no later than the following 7 days, only and exclusively by credit card

as it is necessary to get an immediate confirmation of acceptance of the place. If payment is not made within 7 days the athlete will lose the right to a replacement!

I also want to share with you some of the business/commercial opportunities that will be available at the event. As you know, in fact, in addition to hosting the event, one of the areas of the Fiera di Roma, the fair where the Championships will take place, will host a big commercial area and a fan village, an area where all participants will be able to meet to eat, have a drink, and to visit the stands that will be set up for the occasion in which interested suppliers (not only of table tennis equipment) will be able to exhibit/sell their products while being able to count on a large number of participants and visitors (around 10,000) most of them coming from every corner of the world.

On the same link you can continue to register for the TTX Tournament (Table Tennis X). The participation fee includes the racket which will remain your property at the end of the tournament. Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 finishers.
