I am happy to share with you a new and important milestone achieved in this phase of approaching the next ITTF World Masters Table Tennis Championships – Rome 2024.

In fact, in addition to having already acquired the record for the number of athletes in a table tennis event (over 5800 which will soon reach 6100) the number of nations of the world that will be represented at Rome 2024 has reached 99, demonstrating not only the popularity of our sport, which is played in every corner of the world, but also of the desire of all the members of the global Table Tennis community to continue to compete with each other over the years, in a sport that, much more than many others, exalts the “healthy” sport values.

For this reason, all of us in the Organizing Committee want to extend, first of all, sincere thanks to the athletes of each of the 99 nations for wanting to be part of this historic event for which, as already mentioned, a few hundred places are still available before the “sold out” and, at the same time, we are anxiously waiting to know the name of the 100th nation that will be represented at the event !

Considering the concerns expressed by some of you in this period, regarding the decision of the Organizing Committee and the ITTF to expand the number of athletes from 5000 to 6100, I want to reassure you that this decision was taken only after careful evaluations, both of a technical-managerial and logistical nature, and after having ensured the availability of additional play areas in the venue in addition to those initially envisaged. Therefore, we guarantee that the quality of the services (playing and organizational) that will be made available will not be affected in any way!

As mentioned, the maximum number of players admitted has been fixed at 6100. This determines that, once the number has been reached, all those who want to participate in the event will be placed in a “waiting list” from which they will be drawn whenever places will free up due to cancellation requests which may come in the next months before the event. From the moment that waiting list is activated, the people accepted for replacements (via specific communication) will be able, no later than 72 hours later, to pay their registration fee only and exclusively by credit card as it is necessary to obtain immediate confirmation of acceptance of the place. If the payment is not made within the 72 hours the athlete will lose the right to replacement!

Remember, however, that even after the available places for athletes have been sold out it will be possible to continue purchasing, on the same link used for registration (clicking on “next”), all the following services made available by the Organizing Committee:

• accreditation of accompanying persons;
• outdoor and indoor parking packages;
• camping parking package;
• VIP package

In recent days we have also added a further service for sale on the website, that will give you the possibility of participating in the TTX (Table Tennis X) Tournament, the amateur play “format” launched in 2016 by ITTF with a formula capable of making the practice of our sport even more accessible, integrated, fun and dynamic.

The TTX tournament will take place on Wednesday 10 July starting at 3.00 pm. Likewise, you that are registered for the Championship as athlete and your accompanying persons, will be able to participate in the tournament, which will be played with the equipment and rules of the TTX, and will thus have the opportunity to also experience a particularly inclusive and fun sporting experience.

The maximum number of participants admitted is 128 and the tournament will last approximately 3 hours.

In the cost of participation fee is included the TTX racket to play which will remain your property at the end of the Tournament. Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 athletes.

Furthermore, if you intend to reserve an airport/hotel/airport transfer service on arrival and departure, you are invited to forward a specific request to info@rome2024.org  specifying the number of people to be transported and the days of arrival/departure. Within a few days you will receive a specific quote from our staff.
