I’m happy to greet you and to be able to share with you what you probably already know!

In fact, after the success registered by the organization of the 2022 European Veterans Championships in Rimini last June observed by the results of the survey we sent to the participants at the end of the event from which we recorded an overall satisfaction level of the event equal to 84%, we decided to propose to the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) the candidacy of Italy and the city of Rome to organize the 2024 edition of the World Veterans Championships.

At the end of the selection process, during the ITTF Summit in Amman last December, the ITTF decided to officially assign us the organization of the event making ITTF World Masters Table Tennis Championships Rome 2024 a reality!

Yes, MASTERS, you got it right…because the first news is that the International Federation has decided to transform the name of your category from VETERANS to MASTERS, consequently also adapting the name of the event!

Therefore, our new organizational commitment has already begun, aware of the great responsibility we have: to organize an event which, as was the case for the European Championships in Rimini, will be able to leave an indelible mark in the memory of all participants, both, for the quality of the tournament and the playing conditions and for the hospitality of a unique city in the world, full of history and with an immense artistic-cultural heritage, capable of arousing unique emotions!

Taking into proper consideration the strengths and weaknesses of the Rimini event we want to organize the “Championship of Records” with a number of participants, from all over the world, that exceeds that of the 2016 World Championships in Alicante (current record holder in terms of participants).

I obviously hope that you too, can be part of the biggest Table Tennis Championships of all time by registering for the event. We, as always, will do everything to make your stay in the Eternal City unforgettable!!

By the end of the spring we will be ready for the launch of the Rome 2024 website where you will find all the info on the event, the dates, the competition site, the city and the possibilities for booking accommodation as well as obviously the registration portal for athletes and accompanying persons.

We will also soon create a Facebook profile of the event with which we will be able to communicate more immediately with each other and share information!

I know I was a bit long but I wanted to fully inform you of the news, convinced that you will be part of your nation’s team of athletes to cross the racket with your opponents/friends coming from every corner of the world and experience a great planetary event with us.
